PALU – The Agriculture, Livestock and Marine Services Office of Palu City ensures that livestock in Palu City are safe from Foot and Mouth Disease (PMK).
This has been proven by monitoring, examining and treating livestock in several sub-districts.
Head of the Animal Husbandry Section of the Palu City Agriculture, Livestock and Maritime Service, drh Rini, said that last month the party had just carried out mass treatment in several urban villages. This activity was carried out in the context of preventing and dealing with the transmission of FMD disease outbreaks to livestock in the Palu City area.
FMD is a viral infection that is acute and highly contagious. This disease attacks all animals with even hooves such as sheep, cows, buffalo, pigs, goats, elephants, deer and others.
“We examine all the animals. We give vitamins. For sick livestock, we give medicine. So far no dangerous disease has been found in livestock in Palu city,” he told the media, Tuesday (6/6).
According to him, ahead of Eid al-Adha, his party will form a team in the near future, this activity is a routine activity that is carried out every year.
“Later on three days before Eid al-Adha and on the D day we will descend on mosques, schools and offices in several urban villages. Because officers in our limited cities will also be assisted by the provincial Animal Husbandry Service,” said drh Rini.
He said that the formation of the team would later be led by the Livestock Service Office of Central Sulawesi Province.
