Defending champion Péter Pálos reached the semifinals in the MS11 division of table tennis players at the Paralympics in Paris.
The athlete from Városi SE Dunakeszi, who celebrated his 39th birthday two days ago, fought an opponent from Hong Kong in his first match on Monday and won in four sets. On Wednesday, among the eight, a domestic player, Lucas Creange, third in three years, will be his competitor.
Born with a moderate intellectual disability, Pálos won gold medals in London and Tokyo and bronze medals in Rio de Janeiro.
In the meantime, the qualifications for the SH1 sports pistol mixed event P3 category, in which men and women competed against each other, came to an end at the Châteauroux shooting range.
None of the Hungarians managed to reach the last eight in the 25-meter race, Krisztina Dávid finished 21st with 553 laps, and Gyula Gurisatti finished 22nd with 542 in the 25-man field. A minimum of 569 laps had to be completed for the final round.
