A collection of over 230 classic cars was unveiled by Gallery Aaledering recently in the Netherlands. The find is called the “Palmen Barnfind Collection” and includes an extremely large number of classic cars collected over the last 40 years by Mr. Palmen. Due to the size of the collection, the man was forced to store his collection in three buildings – two barns and a church.
The most interesting thing is that Mr. Palmen did not like ostentation and even his neighbors did not know what was stored in the barns that he owned. Some of them have repeatedly tried to find out what is hidden there, and some have even succeeded. Over the years, Palmen rarely sold cars, but on the other hand, he very often bought them.
Several Ferraris, various models of Lancia, Facel Vegas, Alpine, Ford, Tatra, BMW, Mercedes, Lincoln and others can be found in the collection. The cars are in good condition but need cleaning and minimal restoration. The discoverers say the cars were often torched to keep the engines running, but the man still took care of them himself. The auction for the classics will begin on May 19th and close on June 5th, 6th and 7th.
