Palmeiras agreed to negotiate and forward Miguel Borja is already discussing salary to be a player for the Guild. He will arrive at the club on loan until the end of next year, for which Alviverde will receive R$ 6 million.
Palmeiras also has the prerogative to terminate the agreement if the player is sold to Europe. And his contract will be extended for as long as the loan with Grêmio lasts. Borja’s current contract with Palmeiras is until the end of 2022, with an automatic renewal clause in case the player is not traded before that.
Grêmio will also pay the player’s salaries, indexed at US$100,000 a month, which today is equivalent to around R$500,000.
Borja, 28, spent 18 months on loan at Junior (COL) and re-appeared at Palmeiras last Monday. In Colombia, he scored 35 goals in 57 games. At Palmeiras, there were 30 in 112 games.
To their manager Juan Pablo Chacón, Palmeiras was very direct, saying that they greatly respect the player, a valuable asset of the club. At the moment, however, there are many players ahead of him in terms of priority for the coaching staff.
