Palm Oil Entrepreneurs Must Prepare, Predictions Are Out, Don’t Miss It

jpnn.com, JAKARTA – The Minister of Agriculture for the 2000-2004 period, Bungaran Saragih, predicted that palm oil would be brighter towards 2045.

The reason is, the more use of coconut oil palm for downstream products, both food and non-food, including low-emission biofuels.

On the other hand, the level of GDP and world population is estimated to reach 9.5 billion million people in 2045.

This, Bungaran continued, would have implications for increasing world consumption of vegetable oils, including palm oil.

“Consumption of the world’s four main vegetable oils is estimated to almost double from its current condition to 324 million tons, with a consumption structure still dominated by palm oil of around 141 million tons (44 percent),” Bungaran said as quoted by Antara, Saturday (24/12).

According to him, Indonesia as the largest palm oil producing country in the world today, must take advantage of opportunities and trends in world market demand.

“Therefore, it is important to maintain the existence and sustainability of Indonesian palm oil production,” said the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Palm Oil Agribusiness Strategic Policy Institute (PASPI).

Bungaran stated that one of the efforts to maintain the sustainability of Indonesian palm oil is by increasing production both by extensification and intensification.
