SERAMBINEWS.COM,BLANGPIDIE – The price of oil palm Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) in Aceh Barat Daya (Abdya) district has fallen drastically.
In fact, on Thursday (27/1/2022) night and Friday (28/1/2022) afternoon, the price of palm oil is still encouraging for farmers, which is around Rp. 2,950 per kilogram which is accommodated by the Palm Oil Mill (PKS) or Rp. IDR 2,600 per kilogram at the farmer level.
However, on Friday (28/1/2022) night, the price of palm oil fell drastically to Rp. 900 per kg, or Rp. 1800 per kg at the farmer level.

One of the palm oil collectors in the Babahrot sub-district, Yusran Adek, when confirmed by Serambinew.com, confirmed the price of FFB which fell freely in one day.
“He was right, the drop was very drastic, reaching Rp 900 per kilo from the previous price,” said Yusran Adek, a palm oil collector in Babahrot sub-district.
As a result of the drop in palm oil prices that day, Yusran admitted that he had suffered losses of tens of millions of rupiah.
“I lost more than Rp. 20 million, fortunately I didn’t buy enough yesterday. If I buy palm oil as usual, it reaches 100 tons per day, then I can lose up to Rp. 90 million,” he explained.
According to him, the drop in FFB prices was triggered by the decline in world CPO prices, which had an impact on FFB.
He hopes that in the future, if there is a drastic price reduction, there will be dispensation for the collectors.
“Because CPO is going down, that’s why it’s like this, but it’s really felt, because in a matter of hours, even though we just bought IDR 2,850 in the afternoon from farmers, we bought IDR 2,050 per kilo at night,” he concluded.
