The design of Jean-Michel Wilmotte meets the know-how of the Parla brand to give life to a collection of seats and tables which are distinguished by their discreet elegance, with the bias towards clean lines, the use of noble materials and warm, and extreme attention to finishes. Communicated.
In September 2023, the Parisian studio Wilmotte & Industries hosted the presentation of the new PALM collection, a complete family of seats and tables designed by Jean-Michel Wilmotte for Parla, an Istanbul brand which has a long history in the production of furniture for the hotel industry, residential and tertiary spaces.
The collaboration between the eminent French architect and Parla, a specialist in the manufacture of high-quality furniture with extensive experience in the creation of custom furniture since 1910, began a few years earlier when Jean Michel Wilmotte was working on a project large-scale hotel in the south of France. It was then necessary to design metal armchairs in keeping with the surrounding nature, both durable and inspiring.

At the same time, Jean Michel Wilmotte met the company Parla which then emerged as the ideal partner. From the Black Sea to the Mediterranean Sea, it was only one step to work together and create a collection that has grown over time. From this meeting was born a complete family of furniture: chaise longue, armchairs, bridges, stools, sofas, benches, coffee tables.
No less than three years were necessary to develop the collection, intended as a real tool for prescribers, which is intended to expand in the coming years.

This is how Jean-Michel Wilmotte characterizes the design of PALM: a play of shadow and light, highlighted by the sober lines of the backrests, to punctuate the surrounding space. All the pieces that make up the collection perfectly combine tactility and materiality, thanks to the choice of a resolutely contemporary satin finish for the metal structure, evoking a raw mineral world with which the velvety appearance of the wood of the armrests contrasts. .
The soft weaving of the textiles enhances the studied and embossed design of the cushions. A harmony of seven colors, black, anthracite gray, deep blue, olive green, burgundy, kraft and white, faithful to the work of Jean Michel Wilmotte, combines perfectly with the noble materials used for the details.
