Pallas wants to become mayor in Dresden

The first applicant for the mayoral election in Dresden next year has been confirmed. The SPD executive committee proposed Albrecht Pallas as a candidate.

“Our city is facing great challenges. That is why the election of a new mayor is an important decision, ”said Pallas on Thursday. “I am ready to accept this great task with humility and to use all my strength for it.”

The 41-year-old criminal police officer was elected to the Dresden city council in 2009 and has been a member of the Saxon state parliament since 2014. In his parliamentary group he is the spokesman for the interior, housing and urban development. The members of the SPD Dresden will vote on the election proposal at a constituency conference early next year.

The Jusos in Dresden are also convinced of the candidate: “Albrecht Pallas will be Lord Mayor of Dresden,” they headed their press release.
