Palla Pharma issues dismissal notices to all employees

The factory expects around half of all employees to be laid off, which equates to around 30-40 people, writes NRK.

Palla Pharma is located in Kragerø and is the only factory in Norway that produces pain relief tablets. The factory depends on the delivery of raw materials from abroad to produce the tablets. This makes production vulnerable.

– For a long time the prices of our products have been low. Especially for tablets, it has not been possible to achieve sustainable prices in the market, write the president Morten Andresen and the director of the factory Craig Sweenie in a press release.

– There is also uncertainty about the extent of the electricity support announced by the government, they further say.
