Leaf Mesophyll Tissue
Mesophyll tissue is a tissue composed of parenchyma cells or ground tissue and serves as a filler between other tissues.

Mesophyll tissue is an important part in the process of photosynthesis because photosynthetic tissue contains a lot of chlorophyll to absorb sunlight.

Leaf mesophyll tissue is then divided into two parts, namely palisade tissue or pole tissue and sponge tissue.

These two tissues contain different levels of chlorophyll. This article will focus on discussing the palisade network as follows:

Palisade Network
Palisade tissue is also called pole network because it has a number of cells that extend perpendicular to the leaf surface. Although standing upright, the cells in the palisade tissue do not stand too close together or apart from each other.

Its function is to separate cells from each other so that the air in the intercellular space can still reach the long side of the cell. The palisade tissue is a place where there is a lot of chlorophyll, which functions in the process of photosynthesis.

Each leaf blade usually has one to two layers of palisade tissue and chlorophyll is attached to the walls.

Palisade Network Functions
Palisade function is very important when plants carry out photosynthesis. Palisade tissue is the place where photosynthesis takes place, because it has a lot of chlorophyll.

Chlorophyll in large quantities makes palisade tissue able to absorb sunlight. This light serves as energy for plants to carry out the photosynthesis process.

The palisade tissue also serves as the main filler of the cell layer in the leaf. The function of the palisade tissue is related to the transpiration process, which means the process of removing water because it evaporates from the cell wall.
