Palestinian media reported celebrations in cities across the West Bank, including Ramallah, Nablus and Jenin, and parts of East Jerusalem.
Videos show fireworks, celebratory shots, drivers honking horns, bonfires and crowds singing in the streets.
Masked men show victory signs and distribute gifts in the West Bank city of Hebron.
At several locations in the Gaza Strip, dozens of Palestinians gathered in spontaneous demonstrations to celebrate the attack, with some coming out of delicatessens with large trays of sweets to share.
In downtown Gaza City, celebratory shots rang out, as cars honked their horns and chants of “Allahu Akbar!” could be heard from the mosque’s loudspeaker.
After the synagogue shooting, Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassem praised the attack, saying it proved the resistance knows how to find the right response to Israeli crimes.
The Palestinian Islamic Jihad group also praised the massacre.
