The defusing operations of the WWII bomb found during the works of the railway link in Palermo have begun. The military of the sappers genius through some machinery are removing the fuze which will then be made to shine in the casemate built in the port of Palermo. The evacuation
About seven thousand people had to leave their homes to allow the 600-pound bomb (272 kg, 100 of which of explosives) to be set off. 63 streets, streets, squares and courtyards were evacuated within a radius of 400 meters from the point where the bomb is located. The Municipality has set up three reception centers: at the municipal stadium, at the Pala Uditore and at the Pala Oreto and a collection center in Piazza Sturzo from which the free shuttles to the three reception points will depart, as well as civil protection vehicles.
