The actor, host and businessman Roberto Palazuelos announced this Friday that he is leaving the Movimiento Ciudadan (MC) candidacy for the government of Quintana Roo, after having spoken with the party’s founder, Dante Delgado, about the controversy that has generated a series of statements his.
During an interview with On the radioPalazuelos said that this Thursday night he met with Delgado, with whom he agreed to drop the nomination.
“We both agreed because I better step aside. If they don’t want me, why should I stay? I think I lose, but they also lose a lot. I think they let themselves be carried away by people who created an internal grid for the party,” Enrique Hernández Alcázar told journalist.

Leaders of that party also confirmed to Political Animal the departure of Palazuelos, who had been pre-registered as a candidate only a few weeks ago.
Now, MC will have to choose a new standard-bearer and it is expected to be Senator José Luis Pech, who announced this Thursday that he will not support the candidate of his still pArtido, Morena, Mara Lezama.

Palazuelos generated controversy after in different spaces he said, among other things, that he would act against his adversaries if he came to the state governmentor that a few years ago he killed two people who tried to rob him, acting in self-defense.
In this regard, in the interview with On the radio, acknowledged that the founder of MC told him that those comments “stain” the image of that party. Meanwhile, he believes that with his departure, the MC will lose in Quintana Roo, although with him he had a “great opportunity” to win.
“Citizen Movement is not going to win any elections,” he said, referring to the local elections that this year will be held in six states, including Quintana Roo. The other five entities are Aguascalientes, Durango, Hidalgo, Oaxaca and Tamaulipas. In all, they will vote to renew the governorship.
