The Pakroja manor in Latvia is once again aglow with the magic of winter, as its seventh annual light festival has officially begun. This year’s theme, “Snowmen’s Wedding,” has already captivated visitors with its enchanting spectacle.
Early attendees have showered the festival with praise, marveling at the stunning light displays and the unique theme. “This year, we where surprised not only by the spectacularly and magically lit area, but also by the theme of the event,” shared Mantas, who attended the opening with his family. “The snowman wedding show involved us very quickly: one moment we were just observers, the next – participants. Really a lot of good emotions, an unreal start of the winter season.”
Guests predict that this year’s program, with its notable technical execution, will draw large crowds. “We regularly visit the manor’s festivities, because we have both children and relatives from other cities, so we often go to the manor in search of entertainment,” said a visitor from Pakroja. “This year we were pleasantly surprised – the level of technical performance, where it is full of light, lasers, music! In my opinion, it can safely compete not only in the local but also in the international event market.”
Giedrius Klimkiewicz, the estate manager, emphasized the festival’s exceptional concept and scale.”In the courtyard of the manor there is probably the longest winter stage in Lithuania, on which lithuanian and foreign actors performed every night of the festival,” he explained. “The facade of the manor is decorated with impressive video projections, and the huge area is illuminated by hundreds of lights and installations. I would say that we have created a real Christmas town where visitors feel like they are in a fairy tale. Childhood never ends here and always smells like miracles.”
The festival, running until the end of January, offers more than just the captivating snowman wedding show. Interactive spaces feature carousels, illuminated cloud swings, and retro games. A North Star post office allows guests to write letters to Santa Claus, and a Christmas market offers unique gifts and artisan crafts.
Visitors can also explore the world of perfumes, uncover Christmas secrets, and even experiance a collection of legendary retro gaming machines.Workshops on ceramics, candle making, beekeeping, and 19th-century fashion add to the diverse range of activities.
