The flower festival “Dream of a Summer Night 2020” taking place in Pakroja manor for the second year in a row has not given up the influence of the English playwright William Shakespeare again this year, organizing an event of flowers, poetry, winged phrases and theater performances. The writer, whose work is permeated by a spontaneous love for life, bright characters and great dramatic tension, has become an inspiration for short performances performed in the manor by the best actors of Siauliai and Panevezys theaters.

Director Schwartzstein says that “we do not portray Shakespeare, we are inspired by Shakespeare and his work. We draw small inspirations from Shakespeare’s plays and apply them to the festival, its essence.” The creator of the manor’s performances adds: “The historical surroundings of the manor are no less inspiring, where we present a slightly different, perhaps even unusual to the Lithuanian public, modern street theater genre.”

Theater performances during the festival are unique in that they intertwine different art forms – pantomime, dance, poetry, rhetoric – so the viewer does not have to listen to what is said, but simply watch the movement, and do not wonder if at some point he will be invited to take part. , receiving a role as a Shakespeare character. Every day in the manor you can also meet the characters of the play “Dream of a summer night”, who talk to visitors and tell their stories.

From August, the performances of street theater actors can be seen not only on weekends – they surprise the audience every day of the festival.

Pakroja manor flower festival “Dream of summer night 2020” takes place every day throughout the summer until the first autumn frosts.
