According to the report of ARY News, a 20 kg sack of flour is being sold between Rs 2640 and Rs 2800 in Quetta, the capital of Balochistan, amidst the shortage of flour. The price of flour in Quetta is skyrocketing due to shortage of the commodity. Sensing the opportunity, profiteers have become active and are selling 20 kg flour bags in Quetta and its surrounding areas for between Rs 2,640 and Rs 2,800.
Profiteers are earning goods in Kangali
People living in Quetta, who are struggling with inflation, say that they are not able to get flour at the rate fixed by the government and they are forced to buy flour at exorbitant prices. The residents of the region have demanded the state government to take action against the profiteers and ensure the availability of flour.
Wheat not supplied since 10 days
Meanwhile, President of Flour Mills Association Balochistan Nasir Agha said that the supply of wheat to the mills has stopped for the last ten days. He said, ‘The public is paying the price for the negligence of the Balochistan Food Department.’
