The hosts won the second Test of England in Pakistan. Pakistan won the match by 152 runs in Multan. With this, the first two matches of the three-match series ended with Pakistan tied 1-1.

Finally the shame is over

It was the first time in 1348 days that Pakistan won a home test match. Pakistan last won a Test match on home soil when they toured South Africa in 2021.

After this, Pakistan could not win a single match despite touring Australia twice, England, New Zealand and Bangladesh each time. It should be added that for the first time in history, Bangladesh won a test match and a series against Pakistan on home soil.

It was also a relief win for captain Shan Masood after six Test hits in a row. Pakistan have lost seven of their last 11 home Tests.

The first innings laid the foundation for victory

In the second match, Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat. Pakistan scored 366 runs in the first innings on the strength of Kamran Ghulam‘s century, who replaced Babar Azam. Ghulam scored a century in the first international match of his career.

Saeem Ayyub’s performance of 77 runs also helped Pakistan in the first innings. Other scorers were Mohammad Rizwan (41 off 97 balls), Aamir Jamal (37 off 69 balls) and Agha Salman (31 off 53 balls).

Jack Leach took four wickets in the first innings for England. Brayden Crace took three wickets and Matthew Potts took two wickets. Shoaib Basheer took the remaining wicket.

England could not put up a good performance in the first innings. Ben Duckett’s century-winning performance pulled the visitors out of their slump. The player scored 114 runs off 129 balls.

Joe Root scored 34 runs in the first innings and was the second best run-getter in England.

England fell in front of Sajid Khan. This right-handed batsman took seven wickets. Superstars including Joe Root were consumed by Khan’s gaze.

Things did not change in the second innings

Taking the lead and batting in the second innings, Pakistan started quickly but regained the momentum. Pakistan were all out for 221 with every fielder contributing. Agha Salman was the top scorer with 63 runs off 89 balls.

Jack Leach shone as he did in the first innings. Leach took three wickets, and Shoaib Bashir four wickets. Brayden Crace and Matthew Potts got the remaining wickets.

England, who entered the field with a target of 297 runs, could not get the upper hand even once. Noman Ali and Sajid Khan bowed their heads together.

Eventually, England were bowled out for 144 and lost by 152 runs.

Noman Ali finished the innings with eight wickets while Sajid Ali provided excellent support with two wickets.

Series decider

Series conclusion The series test will begin on October 24. The venue for the fierce battle is the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

After years of waiting, Pakistan have a home Test series ahead of them. Fans are looking forward to see if Pakistan can repeat the same performance and avoid embarrassment.
