Peshawar: The Pakistan Army retaliated against Pakistani Taliban militants who took control of the police station and held the officers hostage. All 33 terrorists were killed in a special military operation and hostage policemen were released. Two soldiers were killed and many were injured.
While being interrogated by Pakistani police in Banu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, a Pakistani Taliban terrorist fired an AK 47 pistol and escaped and freed his accomplices. They then took control of the station and took the policemen hostage. After the failure of the diplomatic talks, the army conducted a special operation on Tuesday at 12:30.
The army did not accept the militants’ request for a helicopter to allow them to flee safely to North Waziristan. Pakistani Defense Minister Khaja Asif informed Parliament that the terrorists were completely defeated within 15 minutes.
Two police officers were killed by the terrorists before the rescue operation started. The insecurity in the Banu region has not ended. Holidays have been declared for schools and universities. Mobile phone and internet connectivity was also disrupted.
