Pak-Iran presidents meet, express concern over the situation in Gaza

Web Desk: The presidents of Pakistan and Iran expressed deep concern over the worsening humanitarian situation in Gaza and strongly condemned Israel’s military aggression against the people of Gaza.
This was expressed in the meeting between President Asif Ali Zardari and visiting Iranian President Dr. Syed Ibrahim Raisi at the President’s House here on Monday.
President Asif Ali Zardari welcomed his Iranian counterpart Syed Ibrahim Raisi on his arrival at the President’s House. The two leaders also discussed important regional and global developments, especially the situation in the Middle East.
The President said that Pakistan will continue to support the cause of Palestine consistently and clearly.
The two presidents emphasized the need to intensify international efforts to end Israeli oppression of the people of Gaza and increase humanitarian aid.
President Asif Ali Zardari said that Pakistan and Iran have close brotherly relations based on common religion, culture and history.
The President thanked Dr. Syed Ibrahim Raisi for being the first Head of State to visit Pakistan after the general elections. He praised Iran for its principled stand and continuous support for the people of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and their right to self-determination.
Iranian President Dr. Seyed Ibrahim Raisi emphasized the need to expand and strengthen bilateral relations in all areas of mutual interest and said that economic, trade and cultural relations need to be further strengthened in the interest of the two brotherly countries.
