JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The application of a Sales Tax on Luxury Goods (PPnBM) of zero percent has been running since March 1, 2021 for cars with a capacity of less than 1,500 cc with a TKDN of 70 percent.
So far, it has been reported that the acceptance of the relaxation has been positive. Furthermore, the Government through the Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani is considering providing PPnBM incentives for cars with a capacity of less than 2,500 cc.
Sri Mulyani said that currently an assessment was being carried out while still leaning on the 70 percent TKDN benchmark.

“So we are making improvements, as long as 70 percent of TKDN can reach (car) to 2,500 cc,” said Sri Mulyani, quoted from Youtube XI DPR Channel, during a work meeting related to PPnBM (15/3/2021).
‘This will lateraddress the issue of several requests for cars over 1,500 cc in the PPnBM relaxation that was given, “he said.
With this plan, it means that Mitsubishi can possibly enjoy incentives Pajero Sport which is currently produced locally. But for the record, Pajero Sport local content must reach a minimum of 70 percent.
Naoya Nakamura, President Director of PT Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Sales Indonesia (MMKSI), said that the Pajero Sport sold in Indonesia has been produced at the Mitsubishi factory in Cikarang, Bekasi, West Java.
“The Pajero Sport model has been produced at the Mitsubishi Motors assembly plant in Indonesia since 2017, until now for the New Pajero Sport,” said Nakamura, in his statement to Kompas.com (17/3/2021).

For information, currently the Pajero Sport is priced starting at IDR 502.8 million (Exceed 4×2 MT) to IDR 733.7 million (Dakar Ultimate 4×4 AT).
With Pajero Sport PPnBM of 20 percent, the lowest variant is subject to an estimated PPnBM of IDR 100,560 million. Then, we just need to reduce the selling price (Rp. 502.8 million) with PPnBM (Rp. 100,560 million).
So, the result is IDR 402,240 million for the lowest type of Pajero Sport. But actually with the PPnBM relaxation, this variant can be less expensive than the GLX 4×4 MT, whose initial price is IDR 567.8 million.

However, what must be considered is that this is actually just a rough calculation so that it is easier for consumers to make an analogy.
The reason is, PPnBM is imposed on the price of a car with status off-the road. Meanwhile, the price of new cars offered to consumers is already burdened with Motor Vehicle Tax (PKB) and dealer margins.
