Pajero Sport does not get PPnBM incentives, this is Mitsubishi’s strategy to maintain the market

This is in accordance with the Decree of the Minister of Industry Number 839 of 2021 concerning Motor Vehicles with Sales Tax on Luxury Goods for the Delivery of Taxable Goods Classified as Luxury Borne by the Government in Fiscal Year 2021.

According to the President Director of PT Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Sales Indonesia (MMKSI), Naoya Nakamura, local content Pajero Sport currently it is less than the specified requirements.

“New Pajero Sport not included in the PPnBM relaxation program 1,500-2,500 cc, because the percentage of local content has not reached 60 percent as stated in the criteria, “said Nakamura when contacted by the editorial team (2/4/2021).

Nakamura added that so far the local content of Mitsubishi Pajero Sport is still below 50 percent.

“The local content of the New Pajero Sport is currently almost 40 percent,” he said.

Referring to its rival, Fortuner, the PT Toyota Astra Motor (TAM) flagship ladder frame SUV has the right to get PPnBM relaxation because its local content reaches 70 percent.

Therefore, the Toyota Fortuner is entitled to a 50 percent PPnBM discount, and the price drops from IDR 33 million to IDR 40.7 million depending on each type.
