MADRID, 22 Jun. (EDITIONS)
Muhammed Emin Kizilkaya and his wife went out in search of storms in Slagelse, Denmark, last weekend, with the idea of capturing some thunderstorms, and ended up capturing shocking images of the formation of a shelf cloud.
These types of cloud formations are quite rare and are usually due to cold air pushes warm air up.
They usually form along the leading edge of a storm line. These storm fronts are associated with vvery strong winds, as cold air meeting warm air forms a large pressure difference that contributes to the threat of strong gusts of wind.
