Painting of the interior of the Greek Catholic church has begun – Dunakanyar Region

The works are progressing well in the Greek Catholic Church of St. Peter and Paul in Dunakesz. Interiors are being painted! – announced on his social media page the Minister of Justice Bence Tuzson, a representative of the Parliament of Dunakeszi, who was informed about the works in the city’s youngest church by the vicar Miklós Bubrik.

– In the church, they are currently working on the implementation of two projects in parallel – explained to our newspaper the vicar Miklós Bubrik.
– The interior walls of the church will be painted in Byzantine style by icon painters from Greece, who are expected to finish this work at the beginning of March. Then comes the painting of the sanctuary. I see that the painters will finish painting the entire interior of the church by November, said the vicar.

We learned from Miklós Bubrik that parallel to the interior painting, the iconostasis, the picture stand, is also made by Greek wood carving masters, after whom the icon painters make the icons. They plan to complete the entire project in January 2025.

– We are very grateful to Mr. Bence Tuzson, Member of Parliament, who constantly monitors and helps the life of our parish and the implementation of our development and renovation plans. I can say with a good feeling that the representative carries the fate of our community close to his heart. The current renovation of our St. Peter and Paul Greek Catholic Church, which is unique in its style in Hungary, is also being carried out with state support and donations from community members, said parish priest Miklós Bubrik.
