In a statement released on their website,Southampton FC declared,”we can confirm that we have made the tough decision to say goodbye to our head coach,Russell Martin. Going into the season we knew that the challenge would be great to play in the best and most competitive league in the world. However, the reality is clear. The board has supported Russel and his staff and has been open and obvious about expectations. We agree on the urgency of better results.”
