State Fund “Agriculture” (DFZ) disbursed the financial support for all 10 interventions for tied support of livestock breeders eligible for support for Campaign 2023. Nearly 116 million BGN (115,726,238) were transferred to 10,103 farmers. The rates at which the support for each intervention is calculated are listed in the orders of the Minister of Agriculture and Food and are published on the websites of the two institutions – the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
From Campaign 2023, new requirements have been introduced for the beneficiaries of the tied support interventions for animals, listed in the Strategic Plan for the Development of Agriculture and Rural Areas (2023-2027). From 2023, all dairy animals – cows, buffaloes, sheep and goats – must be reared in livestock facilities that are in the Raw Milk Control and Monitoring System. An upper age limit has also been introduced for the animals that fall under the scope of support.
There is also a change in the number of animals that are covered by the so-called modulation. For cattle and buffalo, the modulation is already for the first 150 animals, and for small ruminants it is for over 300 animals. Exceptions to the application of modulation are interventions to support mountain animals, where a modulated rate does not apply.
Applicants who have not provided and signed the required declaration and inventory according to a model approved by the executive director of the DFZ for the quantities of milk, dairy products and animals realized by them, as well as the copies of the documents, are not eligible for support under the interventions for tied support for animals. which prove the relevant implementation.
Authorized financial assistance is distributed as follows:
• BGN 20,560,763 was transferred to 2,652 farmers under the intervention for tied support for dairy cows (MLC). The rate for one animal for the first 150 animals eligible for assistance is BGN 328.26, and for over the 150th animal it is BGN 262.61.
• 32,448,368 BGN was ordered to 729 farmers under the intervention for tied support for dairy cows in breeding programs (MlK-RP). The rate for one animal under the intervention for the first 150 animals eligible for assistance is BGN 483.65, and for over 150 it is BGN 386.92.
• Under the intervention for tied support for cows of endangered breeds (K-ZP), 448 farmers were supported, receiving a total of BGN 4,195,451. The rate per animal under the intervention is BGN 198.47 for the first 150 animals eligible for support and 158, BGN 77 for over 150 permissible animals.
• BGN 25,883,007 was awarded to 3,845 applicants under the intervention for production-related support for beef cows (MeK). Each farmer receives BGN 262.17 for the first 150 animals and BGN 209.74 for over the 150th .
• Under the intervention for tied support for beef cows included in breeding programs (MeK-RP), 188 farmers were supported, receiving a total of BGN 4,200,763. Farmers were financed with BGN 393.78 per animal for the first 150 animals, and for over the 150th permissible animal, the support is BGN 315.02.
• 843 sheep and goat breeders were financed with BGN 6,465,731 under the tied support for sheep and goats of endangered breeds (DPZ-ZP). The rate for one animal under the intervention is BGN 53.75 for the first 300 eligible animals and BGN 42.99 for over 300 eligible animals.
• According to the intervention for tied support of sheep and goats in breeding programs, 15,396,307 BGN are authorized for 1,202 farmers. The rate for one animal under the intervention is BGN 87.70 for the first 300 animals eligible for support and 70, BGN 15 for over 300 eligible animals.
• A total of BGN 3,708,011 in subsidies were distributed among 232 farmers under the intervention for tied support of buffaloes (Bivoli). The fixed rate is BGN 406.67 per animal for the first 150 (inclusive), and for more than the 150th eligible animal it is BGN 325.33.
• Under the intervention for tied support for sheep and goats in mountainous areas (DPZh-pl), 1,474 farmers received support in the amount of BGN 1,947,230. The payment rate is BGN 49.97.
• Another 920,602 BGN subsidies were distributed among 495 farmers under the intervention for tied support for cattle in mountainous areas (G-PL) at a rate of BGN 277.29 per animal eligible for support.
