NEW YORK – Governor Kathy Hochul announced Tuesday that New York State has paid more than $2 billion in bonuses to more than 800,000 health care workers across the state through the Health Care Workers Bonus.
The program was launched by Governor Hochul in 2022 and provided bonuses of up to $3,000 for eligible health care workers throughout New York.
“Health care workers work for New Yorkers every day, and that’s why we work for them,” said Governor Hochul. “Our powerful investments put money back in workers’ pockets and help grow our health care workforce to deliver the highest quality care to New Yorkers. “
The New York Health Care Workers Bonus Program issued payments to workers who provide health care services directly and indirectly to patients.
Employees receiving payments through this program (excluding bonuses or overtime pay) must have an annual base salary of $125,000 or less and may work full-time or part-time. time
Bonus payments were determined based on “special periods,” or the number of hours worked in six consecutive months between October 1, 2021 and March 31, 2024. Qualified employees received up to a maximum of $3,000 peak in total bonus payouts over two. times of betrayal.
