PAHO and its Revolving Fund continue to provide access to vaccines and ancillary supplies against COVID-19 with the support of the Government of Canada. From May 2022 to the end of the year, various countries in the Region have received 2.8 million syringes and will receive 162,000 more. The project also includes 32,300 safe deposit boxes so far.
Safety boxes and syringes are essential for administering vaccines and transporting them to remote locations and preserving the product’s intended temperature until it reaches people’s arms.
