PAE Olympiacos: “Political motives of the persecution, we have a crystal clear conscience” –

Criminal proceedings were brought against the owner of PAE Olympiacos, V. Marinakis, the vice-presidents of PAE, K. Karapapa, D. Agrafiotis, the president of Erasitekhnis M. Kountouris, as well as against the vice-president and mayor of Piraeus, Yiannis Moralis, yesterday, Tuesday , day of a 24-hour strike by ESIEA, for the incidents in Rentis and the death of the unfortunate policeman Giorgos Lyggeridis in December 2023, during the Olympiakos-Panathinaikos men’s volleyball derby.

The offenses that have been attributed to them are misdemeanors and in particular they are, on occasion, those of supporting a criminal organization and inciting sports violence.

After this development, PAE Olympiacos issued a statement in which it states:

“Regarding the summons of a misdemeanor nature, against members of its management, PAE OLYMPIAKOS announces that:
Today’s development, which was announced weeks ago by specific political and business centers, is a new attempt to blackmail PAE OLYMPIAKOS in order to bend both the OLYMPIAKOS family and its President himself.

This development came as a continuation of the unjust mass targeting of our followers as a criminal organization.

Even the most naive can understand that the time chosen is not random. This particular methodology has political characteristics and unfortunately instrumentalizes Justice itself.

Those who operate under parastatal conditions in the public life of the country are responsible for this mess.

The President of PAE Olympiacos and the Olympiacos family have a clear conscience, they are not being blackmailed, they are not bending”

The five men are expected to apologize before the investigator next Tuesday (26/11).

Theme⁢ 1: Reaction to Criminal‌ Proceedings Against PAE ⁣Olympiacos and their Implications

Moderator: Good day, Ladies and Gentlemen. Today, we‌ will be ⁢discussing the recent criminal proceedings brought against the owner of PAE Olympiacos, V. Marinakis, as well as several other ⁣high-ranking officials within ⁣the club. As the world of sports continues to grapple with the issue of⁢ violence and‍ hooliganism, how do you think these developments will⁤ impact not only PAE Olympiacos but also other Greek sports clubs?

Guest 1: Well, firstly, I think it’s a positive⁤ step⁢ that ⁢these individuals are being held accountable for their‍ actions. As an official from ⁢another Greek sports⁣ club,⁢ it’s essential to maintain a certain level of professionalism and responsibility within the industry. While it might be unfortunate for the team itself, this‍ could potentially set a precedent⁢ for⁤ stricter‍ measures against clubs who fail to control fan behavior.

Guest 2: I agree that holding individuals accountable is crucial, but I also believe there might be political motives behind⁣ these proceedings. The timing of ⁢this case, so close to a 24-hour‌ strike by ESIEA, raises questions about whether it’s being used as ‌leverage against the club. Additionally, the involvement of⁣ Piraeus’ vice-mayor and the‍ death of a police⁤ officer in a volleyball derby seems disproportionate and might ‍indicate broader issues within Greek⁣ sports.

Moderator: Interesting points. Moving on to the⁣ next theme, PAE Olympiacos’ Reaction to the Allegations. ⁤The club has released a⁢ statement claiming that they ⁣have a clear conscience and are not being blackmailed. ⁢How do you interpret their response, given the serious nature⁢ of the allegations?

Guest 1: I think ⁣the club’s response is ‌deviating from the point, as they are denying any wrongdoing rather than⁣ focusing on how they plan to address the situation. Perhaps they could have been⁣ more introspective about their management practices⁢ and supporter relations instead of trying to defend themselves. However, it’s too early to judge their innocence or guilt without concrete evidence.

Guest 2:⁤ I completely
