Thrissur: Film director and writer P. The Padmarajan Memorial Trust presented awards in Padmarajan’s memory. Radhalakshmi Padmarajan presented the literary awards at a function held at Sahitya Akademi. The story award goes to Sarah Joseph’s ‘You’. Subhash Chandra’s ‘Samudra Shila’ won the first ever novel award. Receiving the awards, Sarah Joseph and Subhash Chandran recalled that Padmarajan was a rare genius who combined literature and visual language and that the light that Padmarajan had left in the minds of the audience would never go out. Director Sibi Malayil presented the film awards. Madhu C directed by Kumbalangi Knights won the Best Director award. Narayanan and Sajin Babu, who wrote the screenplay for the film Biryani, received the award for screenplay. Bobby and Sanjay, who wrote the screenplay for the film Uyare, received the Special Award for Screenplay. The book ‘Son’s Notes’ written by Padmaraja’s son Anantha Padmanabhan was presented to Sarah Joseph Subhash Chandran and released. Padmaraja’s fellow travelers and friends Unni Menon, J.R. Sahitya Akademi President Vaishakhan honored Prasad. Trust Chairman Vijayakrishnan presided over the function. Baiju Chandran, Pradeep Panangad, A.
