On Sunday, October 15th, Paderborn’s wheelchair basketball players will start their second regional league season in Bonn.

At 1 p.m., coach Detlef Tipp’s team will compete in league play for the first time against the Lux Rollers, who finished second in the Regionalliga Middle last season. The game against hosts ASV Bonn, seventh in the previous points round, follows at 3 p.m.
The Paderborn squad stayed together. The coach hopes that well-coordinatedness should be a trump card. Nevertheless: “The repeat of the runner-up championship will not be a sure-fire success in the new Regionalliga 3,” says Detlev Tipp. “With Freren, Münster and Groningen, three weaker teams have moved north. That’s why I expect a balanced playing time.”
The five regional leagues have been reduced to four seasons, the Regionalliga West has been renamed Regionalliga 3. “Our ambitions for the 2nd league do not exist because it is now organized on a single track,” explains Tipp. There are trips to Tyrol (Innsbruck), Ulm or Tübingen. “This driving is not possible for us in terms of time or money.” Information on the internet: www.ahorn-panther.de
