Paderborn – Lukas Kwasniok started training for the new second division season with SC Paderborn with a large contingent of 31 players.

The new head coach and successor to Steffen Baumgart had all professionals available except for the Nigerian national player Jamilu Collins. A total of nine newcomers took part in the first team training session, including the loan player Jasper van der Werff (RB Salzburg), who had only recently been signed on. The courted Chris Führich was also there. The attacker, who was only signed in May, could still leave the club for a reasonable transfer fee.

A lot will change in the squad anyway. «It’s a dynamic process. Until August 31, something will move in one direction or the other, ”said Kwasniok. The 40-year-old did not want to make a clear decision on a season goal. “We have to make the foundation broader and stabilize SC Paderborn,” said the coach.

The first test match of the Paderborn team will take place on June 25th against the third division MSV Duisburg. Further games are initially planned against SC Verl (June 26), Hannover 96 (July 3) and Borussia Mönchengladbach (July 17). From July 5th to 10th the team will move to a training camp in Garderen, the Netherlands. The second league starts the new season on the fourth weekend of July (23rd to 26th July).
