Star boxer Manny Pacquiao intends to return to the ring at the age of forty-two after a two-year hiatus. The Filipino champion, who won championship titles of eight different weight categories during his career, announced on Twitter that he would face American Errol Spence on August 21st. During the duel in Las Vegas, the belts of the WBC and IBF organizations will be in the game in the welter’s weight.

Pacquiao last boxed in July 2019, defeating Keith Thurman and winning the WBA Welter title. However, he did not defend himself afterwards, so the federation took him away from him in January. The belt now belongs to the Cuban Yordenis Ugas.
Eleven years younger, Spence is still undefeated in his professional career. Of the 27 duels so far, 21 ended before the limit. He last defended his title against Danny Garcia in December 2020. Pacquiao has a balance of 62 wins, seven defeats and two draws.
