The judge’s decision was based on the fact that there were sufficient elements to consider Rueda’s participation in the alleged fraud, as well as in the breach of the money back that Camacho had confided to him.

Camacho’s lawyer, Alejandro Castaño Heredia, stated that Paco Rueda will face his trial at liberty under certain precautionary measureswhich include a ban on leaving Mexico and the obligation to appear at the prison to sign in on stipulated dates. If found guilty, Rueda could face a sentence of 6 to 12 years in prison.

The original complaint was filed by Alejandro Camacho in October 2022 before the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Mexico.

The renowned actor, famous for his role in Wolf’s Cradles, stated that He gave Rueda a considerable sum of money with the promise that would be invested in a business which would generate high interest.

However, after receiving the first interest payments, Rueda allegedly disappeared with the capital and stopped respond to Camacho for almost two years.

Given the lack of progress in the investigation, Camacho filed a new public complaint in May 2024, seeking that the authorities will take action more specific in the case.
