The issue of consignments sent by the Czech Post will soon be significantly simplified. The post office has signed a contract with a company that will supply self-service dispensing boxes for it. These will be at the post office branches and also at selected stations. The first should appear before Christmas, then all 264 boxes should be in operation at the beginning of next year.
The Czech Post and the Railway Administration have found a company that will arrange dispensing boxes at train stations and post offices. They have concluded a contract with CONTEG, which will install and provide unattended dispensing. The company will start installing the first dispensers, where people will be able to pick up packages, in October. They will conclude a lease agreement with the operator for the next five years. The companies stated this in a press release.
“You simply come to the smart dispensing box according to your needs, enter the code and pick up your order from the mailbox,” said Roman Knap, the director of the Czech Post, about the service.

The director of the Railway Administration Jiří Svoboda also praises the service. “Gradually, we want to expand the portfolio of services at stations, which can be used daily not only by passengers but also by passers-by. Setting up dispensing boxes is the first of these steps, I believe that this service will find its customers,” he said.
According to the Chairman of the Board of Directors of CONTEG group, Vít Voláček, Czech Post customers can look forward to new boxes soon. “By the end of December, we will have more than 100 seats in operation. Customers will be able to use the full number, ie 264 OX boxes, during the first months of next year,” he claims.
