The Pacific storm that battered San Diego County on Monday with cold, dry winds will clear to the east Tuesday, ushering in a warming pattern that will return daily seasonal high temperatures to normal Thursday, according to the Weather Service. National.
Winds Monday blew as fast as 64 mph in Boulevard, a town of 450 people east of Interstate 8, not far from the San Diego and Imperial county line. The winds caused swirling dust storms that reduced visibility to near zero in that region.
Forecasters said the dust also slowed traffic on State Route 78 east of Ramona.
The daytime high Tuesday in San Diego will be 59 degrees, nine below average. The temperature will hit 65 on Wednesday, 68 on Thursday, 67 on Friday and 68 on Saturday. Forecast models suggest that within a week or 10 days it will be even hotter.
