Zamalek coach Jaime Pacheco stated that he is happy with the team’s performance against MCA, not the result, saying that Marouane Hamdi joined the team only 15 days ago and needs to participate in order to gain confidence.
Pacheco said in his statements at the press conference after the goalless draw with Mouloudia Algeria: “It was a strong match between two great teams, and as strong as it was, it had many opportunities that we could not take advantage of.”
He continued: “We are still at the beginning and we played a good match. We must look at what is coming and certainly the next will be better. We can work on the wasted opportunities and deal with them. We are happy with the good performance, but we are not happy with it.”
He talked about Marwan Hamdi, the striker of the team, saying: “Marwan has specific characteristics, and he has been with us for 15 days and needs to participate and gain confidence. If we were equal, Marwan did not participate, you would tell me why Marwan did not participate, and therefore the scorers who score many goals and their price is high.”
And in front of replacing Hazem Imam again and playing Ahmed Sayed Zizou in his position, he said: “A firm change I actually repeated in order to take advantage of Zizou’s offensive capabilities and played almost without a right back.”
He concluded by explaining why his Moroccan player participated in the second half as an alternative, not playing from the start: “Bencharki was injured and came back recently, so my choice not to push him was essential because he did not train.”
