“PACA’s Economic and Political Newsletter: State Medical Aid is Not a Solution for Migratory Air, Contrary to Mrs. Dumont’s Belief”

In a press release, the presidential party writes: “It is with amazement that we discover that Senator Françoise Dumont carried and had adopted with Michel Bonnus an amendment aimed at abolishing State Medical Aid (AME) within the framework of examination of the immigration and integration bill.

This abolition, desired for many years by the extreme right, therefore has the consequence of only allowing the reimbursement of care for minors, care related to maternity, vaccination and of submitting the reimbursement of the most more serious to a stamp duty creating a strong health risk.

While a few days ago Michel Bonnus criticized the rapprochement of Françoise Dumont and Frédéric Masquelier with David Rachline, today by also carrying this deletion he acts the reality of things in the Var. Now it is clear that some LR and RN are one.

Renaissance Var is firmly opposed to the abolition of State Medical Aid. This deletion is contrary to the Hippocratic oath and the obligation to provide assistance to anyone in danger.

Since its creation, no government has questioned the existence of the AME because it is an essential health tool to protect the French. To suppress the AME is to promote the proliferation of certain infectious diseases, such as tuberculosis or scabies.

The AME is also a good budgetary tool. To remove the AME is to increase the debt of hospitals. Difficulties in accessing primary care, delays in treatment, worsening situations, more frequent and compulsory use of emergency rooms and other hospital services will ultimately contribute to further disorganize the system and increase expenditure.

To make believe that this suppression will solve the question of irregular immigration is false since in reality the care is granted to people who need it.
