Pablo Muñiz is appointed as president of the Economic Development Bank



The governor Wanda Vázquez Garced submitted today the appointment of the authorized public accountant, Pablo Muñiz Reyes, for the positions of president of the Economic Development Bank (BDE) and as executive director of the Housing Financing Authority (AFV).

The respective Boards of Directors of said bodies will have appointments for their consideration.

“I am confident that the extensive experience and commitment of Muñiz Reyes will contribute significantly to the success of these important entities, for the benefit of the public sector and the people of Puerto Rico,” said the governor in a press release issued this afternoon by La Fortaleza.

“I appreciate the trust placed in me by the governor and the opportunity to continue serving our Island in the face of the significant challenges we face as a people,” said Muñiz Reyes.

From October 2018 and July 2019 to the present, Muñiz Reyes served as deputy director of the AFV. He also served as president of Sun West Financial Services International from 2015 to 2017 and served as deputy secretary of Administration of the Department of Education, from February 2017 to September 2018.

Between 2012 and 2013, he served as director of the Finance, Accounting and Risk Management areas of the AFV, where he also held other positions in different periods.

The nominee has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez Campus, and a master’s degree in Construction Management from the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico.
