Pablo De Blasis: First Reinforcement for Gymnastics and Fencing La Plata

The midfielder Pablo De Blasis became this midday the first reinforcement of Gymnastics and Fencing La Plata for the second part of the year and was presented at a press conference.

“The goal is to get to know each other as quickly as possible and earn as many points as possible, in a short tournament. We have to give our best. We must continue to grow to leave Gymnastics as high as possible”, stated De Blasis.

The 35-year-old midfielder, trained in the Lobo youth team, comes from playing in Cartagena, Spain, where last season he played 43 games and scored two goals, he referred to the feelings that this return caused him and said: ” Once and for all we have to change history and we have to do it by being all together”.

De Blasis also made reference to the frustrated return last season and stated: “For me, the easiest thing would be to tell everything that happened last year but I’m not going to do it. Today, the club is going through a moment of historic change. I don’t need to go back. Lies were told but I don’t care.”

“You have to bring the people of the house closer. They want to come to the Club. We must give them a good time, that they feel that they can always come. If someone else returns, they are welcome,” added the footballer who spent more than 10 seasons in European football.

Finally, he gave his opinion of his first hours at the club and remarked that “the feeling of everything is better than I expected. Stay today is much more beautiful. There are many changes and it is an impressive work. It is a difficult time for the country and the club: signing up for the works speaks well of the process”.

De Blasis only played 29 games with the Gimnasia shirt (27 of them in the B Nacional 2011/2012). He debuted in first division on June 1, 2008 when Guillermo Sanguinetti made him enter for Juan Cuevas against Vélez Sarsfield in the final minutes and he played his last match at the “Lobo” on June 22, 2012 in a 3-3 draw against Aldosivi, with Pedro Troglio as coach.

In Argentine soccer he also played for Ferro, then continued his career at Asteras Tripolis, Mainz, Eibar and Cartagena.

De Blasis had everything agreed with the leadership and last Tuesday, after a talk with Sebastián Romero, his link with the institution was finalized. El Lobo will visit Talleres on Monday, July 24 at 4:30 p.m.

Gymnastics has already started purifying its campus. He transferred Tomás Muro to Russian football and terminated the contracts of Nicolás Contín, Maximiliano Comba and Tomás Fernández.
