Kozhikode: The culture of the cinematographer PS Nivas, who left the world in silence after running the last reel of a hit movie, today. His brother P. Lohithakshan said that when PS Nivas, a National Award winning cameraman and director, returned home from Chennai, he did not want to tell anyone about the film or his achievements.
Nivas won the National Award for ‘Mohiniyatta’ directed by Sreekumaran Thampi. But he was reluctant to come on stage and accept. The award was delivered home by post.
Even the locals did not know that he was a photographer when he settled in the stone house in Ingapuzha West Kaithapoyil 7 years ago. He was known as Srinivasan.
