P. Marinakis for Tsipras: After deciding to break his silence, let him deal with SYRIZA first – 2024-09-25 02:01:05

With a sharp statement, the government representative, Pavlos Marinakis, commented on the speech of Alexis Tsipras at his award for the Prespa Agreement.

“Mr. Tsipras, in less than 10 years, brought the country to the brink, lost one electoral process after another, was massively rejected by the citizens, both as prime minister and as leader of the official opposition and delivered a a party under collapse”, noted Mr. Marinakis in his post on social networks.

“Let him deal with his house first”

And he added, referring to the events in SYRIZA: “After he decided to break his silence, let him deal with the affairs of his house first, let him do his brave self-criticism about what he did to the country and his party, and then he positions himself for the Government. We are here to answer him.”

Tsipras: The government is deeply corrupt

In his speech, Alexis Tsipras launched a fierce attack on the government of Kyriakos Mitsotakis, stressing that it is “deeply corrupt and arrogant”.

At the same time, the former prime minister spoke about the young people who “refuse to trust any preacher who will try to cheaply and thunderously exploit their anger, plunging the public debate deeper into toxicity and mud”.

“There are thousands of young men and women, whom all of us meet every day, who experience the world of inequalities, insecurity and multiple crises every day. They rage at the blood of civilians, at cartels and precision, at entanglement, at the wages of exploitation, at violations of the rule of law by a deeply corrupt and arrogant government,” he said.

“Just as they refuse to trust any preacher who will attempt to cheaply and thunderously exploit their anger, plunging the public debate deeper into toxicity and muck. They are looking for vision, but also realism, seriousness, persistence, honesty, efficiency. Substance and not image. And the ideology declared by every political force is not enough for them to trust it. This is the generation to which we have a duty to address”, noted Alexis Tsipras.
