Jake E. Lee, 67, known as Ozzy Osbourne’s guitarist, has been hospitalized in Las Vegas, TMZ and Los Angeles Times reported. The guitarist’s spokesperson Amanda Cagan said Lee was shot multiple times early Tuesday morning while walking his dog in Las Vegas.
When police arrived, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. Lee is now said to be conscious in the intensive care unit and is expected to make a full recovery.
The authorities investigating the incident believe that Lee was chosen as a victim completely by chance. Las Vegas police say the shooter has not been arrested and the case remains under investigation.
Lee and his family wish for privacy during his recovery.
– Since the case is under police investigation, we will not comment further, Cagan said.
Lee became famous as Ozzy Osbourne’s guitarist from 1982 to 1987. In addition, he has released three solo albums.
Osbourne told TMZ she was shocked by the news.
“It’s been 37 years since I saw him, but that doesn’t take away the shock I felt when I heard what happened to him.” It’s just another senseless act of armed violence. I just hope he recovers, Osbourne commented.
