- Amazon and Softbank planned to buy a stake in Ozon, but the deal fell through, according to RIA Novosti. CEO of Internet retailer Alexander Shulgin met with Jeff Bezos about six months ago, said co-owner of AFK Sistema Vladimir Yevtushenkov.
- Now about 43% of Ozon is owned by AFK Sistema and Sistema VC venture capital fund, another 40% – by Baring Vostok.
- On June 2, Reuters wrote that Sberbank plans to buy a 30% stake in Ozon. The bank may become the third equal majority partner.
- The Russian Internet retailer planned to enter the exchange in 2020 or 2021. According to Yevtushenkov, Ozon “is just steps from profitability and perfectly prepared for an IPO.”
