Ozolnieki Secondary School reveals illegal employment / Article / LSM.lv

Ozolnieki Secondary School has discovered illegal employment of a person and circulation of fictitious financial resources by paying a salary to a person who is currently on parental leave and receiving childcare benefit.

“It is the case that an employee who is on parental leave was employed, receives payments from the State Social Insurance Agency and at the same time receives payment from another person for his or her work. He is illegally employed, ”said Andris Ozoliņš, Chairman of the Ozolnieki District Council (Latvian Green Party).

The local government has terminated the legal employment relationship with the school principal Dina Tauriņš on the basis of an agreement.

The council explained that the decision to dismiss had not been made because there were reports that the director might be going to take a sick leave. According to the law, the employer does not have the right to terminate the employment contract during the employee’s temporary incapacity for work.

“We invited Dina Tauriņš, the principal of Ozolnieki Secondary School, to a discussion. At the same time, we found out that it was possible for her to be incapacitated for work, to draw up an incapacity for work sheet, which in our case would make it more difficult for the school to operate, and we decided to offer the school principal an agreement to terminate her employment. Of course, this agreement does not preclude our actions beyond what is required by law – to pass information to law enforcement agencies, ”explained Ozoliņš.

The exact amounts that have been paid illegally in this way are not mentioned in the local government, they only add that the actual amounts are determined by the State Police. Information on these violations will also be passed to the Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau.

Soon announcing a competition to look for the new management of Ozolnieki Secondary School.
