The market gossip started in London about three weeks ago. But now from Istanbul the rumor of a contact, certainly not the first, between the entourage of the German midfielder (of Turkish origin) Mesut is bouncing Özil and the emissaries of the Juventus. Out of Arsenal’s technical project after eight honored seasons, the 32-year-old 2014 world champion with Germany would again be offered to the Juventus club, unexpectedly plunged to sixth place in the Serie A standings, i.e. out of the Champions zone and with a delay from leaders Milan and the pursuer Inter (10 points and 9 points respectively) which is starting to get worrying.

Özil has the contract expiring on June 30th and the Emirates company, in order to get rid of it, would be ready not only to leave it free at zero since the winter transfer window that will start next week, but even to take on part of the very high engagement that bestows on him. About 10 million euros remain to be paid from January 1st to June 30th. Juve could borrow him every six months, paying him half of the fees and leaving the remaining 50% to the Londoners. Doctor Erkut Sögüt, the player’s Turkish agent, is working in this direction: lowering Arsenal’s requests as much as possible, almost eliminating them, to allow his client to return to the field as soon as possible. Özil is training hard, but hasn’t played since March 7: when he resumed after the Premier League was stopped due to Covid, he was excluded by Arteta.
