Oyem, December 19, 2023 (AGP) – The handover between the outgoing mayor and the newly designated Special Delegate took place on Monday, December 18 in Oyem, the provincial capital of Woleu-Ntem (North), it was announced observed.
It was the Secretary General of the Prefecture of the Woleu department, Cyprien Meboune Esso, who chaired this sober ceremony.
Appointed by decree of the Committee for the Transition and Restoration of Institutions (CTRI) on December 15, Jean Christophe Owono Nguema, the new councilor of Oyem arrives at a time when the mandate of local elected officials ended a few months ago. Mr. Alain-Christian Pandzou, 1st deputy at City Hall, had provisionally assumed, from 2021, the interim mayor of the town, after the legal setbacks of the mayor elected in 2018.
Mr. Owono Nguema, former deputy and former senator, was until his appointment, the Provincial Representative of the National Union (UN) in Woleu-Ntem.
