Oyem (north), January 1, 2024 (AGP) – The governor of the Woleu-Ntem province, Jules Djeki, offered a dinner on December 31, on the occasion of the celebration of New Year’s Eve, not without making a brief summary of the events experienced this year, including the takeover of power by the military on August 30.
« We all know that Gabon, our country, experienced a historic moment characterized by the takeover of power by the military on August 30. An action which, as we know, is perceived by the Gabonese as a liberation. Since then, we have been happy witnesses to what our valiant national army is doing for the well-being of the Gabonese people, in the space of just 4 months.“, declared Jules Djeki, welcoming the absence of bloodshed during this act of liberation.
In his remarks, Mr. Djeki was also delighted that the Gabonese people had followed the instructions of the Committee for the Transition and Restoration of Institutions (CTRI), regarding foreign communities living in Gabon.
« Allow me, here, to rejoice in the scrupulous respect by the Gabonese people to continue to live in harmony and conviviality with foreign communities living in our country, as is the case in our province.“, underlined Jules Djeki, appreciating the significant presence of the said communities at the gala dinner.
The highlight of the ceremony was the launch of the fireworks at midnight. A moment that dazzled all the guests.
