ISU BOGOR – Scientists have warned about the dire threat as a result of depletion oxygen unavoidable on Earth.
Time is running out for Earth, as scientists warn the planet’s nourishing atmosphere is slowly losing its oxygen. In fact, they said there was nothing that could be done about it.
About five billion years from now, the Sun will run out of nuclear fuel and breathe its dying heat as it expands into a red giant.
The expanding star would engulf the innermost planets of the solar system and turn Earth into scorched, lifeless husk.
But long before this happened, scientists feared the planet would run out oxygen and almost nothing can be done to prevent the scenario doomsday.
According to a paper published in the journal Nature Geosciences earlier this year, the Sun will accelerate the rate at which Earth is losing oxygen.
Earth’s oxygen will be depleted in 1 billion years and there is nothing humans can do to overcome or avoid it.
