Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain conveyed his disappointment to Liverpool in this season. England midfielder was rarely played by Jürgen Klopp.
Oxlade-Chamberlain appeared as a substitute during Liverpool’s 3-0 win over Burnley at Turf Moor, Thursday (20/5/2021) early morning WIB, in the continued Premier League. He contributed one goal in that match.
This will be Oxlade-Chamberlain’s 12th appearance Premier League since the start of the 2020/2021 season. The 27-year-old player has warmed the Liverpool bench more than playing on the field.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain indeed he has not been able to speak much after recovering from the knee injury that has gripped him since 2018. He was even introduced as a starter only once in 2021, namely when Liverpool fell 0-1 to Burnley at Anfield.
The lack of playing hours apparently frustrated Oxlade-Chamberlain. He poured out his frustration on LFCTV after the match Burnley vs Liverpool.
“I feel pretty good now, but for whatever reason I have a very hard time getting a chance. This is part of football, it’s not something you like,” Oxlade-Chamberlain told reporters. LFCTV, as quoted from Mirror.
“I’ve been pacing myself, trying to push and ask questions, but sometimes it doesn’t go your way. The most important thing is that I have to stay focused,” he added.
“I’m certainly happy to be part of this team and play for the club, and that’s what I want. This is what I’m really focused on, trying to work as hard as I can for my teammates,”.
“Keep practicing well, keep giving the decisions the manager has to make, because the other players are in the same position as me right now. That’s what I can do, stay low and when I get the chance, like today, I go down there and do the positive, “he said Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
