JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV– During the Implementation of Restrictions on Community Activities (PPKM), there were several products whose sales increased dramatically, especially through e-commerce platforms.

The e-commerce aggregator platform, Shopback, noted that in the first week of PPKM 5-11 July, the average transaction of their partners increased for the categories of health, household needs, electronics and entertainment.

The health category, according to Shopback’s records, has tripled, while other categories have doubled during the implementation of community activity restrictions (PPKM).

The platform sees medical test kits and medical aids have increased since two weeks before PPKM. During the PPKM period, the purchase of an oximeter, a tool to monitor oxygen saturation, increased up to 350 times compared to usual.

The surge in purchases also applies to vitamin C, which experienced a 54-fold increase in transactions.

And interestingly enough, according to Shopbackl data, consumer reading interest in PPKM has increased. This can be seen from the 19-fold increase in the purchase of literature and novels.
